Expanding healthcare capacity at Ipswich Hospital with Health Infrastructure Queensland
The Ipswich Hospital Expansion Stage Two project will increase healthcare capacity across one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions.

Project overview
What does it take to future-proof one of Queensland's busiest hospitals?
The Ipswich Hospital Expansion Stage Two project will improve access to emergency, inpatient, surgical and diagnostic services. It will also enhance the hospital's ability to support future healthcare needs.
Once complete, the project will deliver a new 12-storey acute services building, including 200 additional overnight inpatient beds, a new Emergency Department, six operating theatres, an Intensive Care Unit and expanded diagnostic and support services.

Managing the delivery of a complex healthcare expansion
We’re providing programme and project management services for Health Infrastructure Queensland and West Moreton Hospital and Health Service throughout the planning and delivery of the project.
Our team has implemented a structured programme management approach, bringing together clinical, technical and delivery stakeholders through clear governance and oversight of project risks, cost, schedule and scope.
By focusing on delivery goals and healthcare results, we're helping to keep the project aligned with its intended benefits. This includes improved access to healthcare services, enhanced patient and staff experiences and increased long-term capacity for the region.
Increasing capacity for a growing community
Once completed, the project will increase healthcare capacity across Ipswich Hospital, helping improve access to care and strengthen key clinical services. The expanded facilities will also support contemporary models of care, improving operational efficiency and creating an environment that better supports patients, visitors and healthcare workers, while driving better outcomes for communities across the West Moreton region.
