Transforming life sciences with Sanofi’s new Chengdu hub
Creating an immersive visitor attraction with Paradox Museum
Bringing more than 50 immersive, interactive installations to the heart of Shanghai’s waterfront, Paradox Museum Shanghai Bund 2.0 has resulted in a cultural destination enjoyed by both locals and visitors.

Project overview
How do you bring a global experiential brand to Shanghai’s central business district?
Originating in Europe, Paradox Museum now operates over 15 experience centers in major cities, including Paris, London, Berlin, Stockholm and Helsinki. The entertainment brand offers innovative experiences featuring unique spatial designs and interactive elements.
Paradox Museum set an opening date and a delivery structure that brought together numerous contractors and consultants. The combination of a tight timeframe and multiple stakeholders working in parallel required clear coordination from the outset.
We were appointed to provide full project management and cost and commercial management for the Shanghai project. We worked alongside the client from initiation through to attraction opening.

Local knowledge that made the difference
We set up and controlled the schedule, then led procurement across the full supply chain. Running these packages to a coordinated plan kept many moving parts aligned to one opening date. It also helped identify and manage risks early.
Through construction, we managed the works on the ground, monitored environmental, health and safety performance, controlled quality, and managed design while supporting change as the fit-out took shape. Regular reporting kept the client informed at every stage.
Our local market knowledge shaped the project strategy from the start. We understood the local supply chains, procurement requirements and cost benchmarks, translating this into clear, practical guidance that could be acted on. This meant confident, informed decisions could be made at every stage of the project, creating a new waterfront destination where people of all ages can come together to play, wonder and see the world a little differently.
“Bringing the Paradox Museum flagship to Shanghai was a complex undertaking that required seamless coordination and rigorous oversight. Turner & Townsend served as a trusted partner from day one, guiding us through local procurement, managing intricate contractor interfaces and keeping our budget strictly controlled. Their team's dedication and local market expertise were instrumental in delivering a world-class venue on schedule.”
