Project overview

Showcasing Australia

With more than 190 participating countries, and with 70 percent of its anticipated 25 million visits coming from outside the UAE, Expo 2020 Dubai is the ideal platform for business, industry and government to promote Australian capabilities and connect with global opportunities. It helps showcase Australia’s credentials as a world-class place to do business, invest, study and visit.

Situated in the heart of the Mobility District at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Australian Pavilion pays homage to a nation built on mobility. From the earliest histories to the modern day, the movement of people and ideas is embedded in the nation's DNA. Australia has always been a place of discovery.

Australia’s first nation's people, the most ancient civilisation on earth, are the original innovators. That rich foundation of indigenous culture and knowledge forms the backbone of the nation and future. The Pavilion theme, Blue Sky Dreaming, encapsulates Australian optimism and creativity and celebrates Australian diversity and collaboration, envisaging a future of infinite possibilities founded on 60,000 years of innovation.

The Australian Pavilion offers visitors an immersive journey that allows them to explore Australia’s diversity and ingenuity.

It also hosts a strategic programme of events connecting Australian business and industry to global trade and investment opportunities, and presents the best of Australian products, services and expertise to other participating countries.

project story

Expert consultants

We were engaged at the onset of the project in February 2018, as the project management and cost consultant. We managed the design and build contractor throughout the commission, from design and construction through to project close-out and handover.

We consistently drove our agenda with respect to time, cost, quality and health, safety and environment (HSE), and also monitored the contractor’s financial performance.

Objectives met

The Pavilion’s architecture reveals a world-class Australian design, utilising Australian materials which represent and support several Australia-based businesses.

It also achieved the goal of zero lost time injuries and obtained the highest levels of recognition for HSE management, supporting Expo 2020 Dubai’s wider goal of increasing HSE and worker welfare performance in the UAE.
