Transforming Sydney's waterfront with Infrastructure NSW
Creating a global innovation hub with AstraZeneca
This comprehensive project transforms the Estel building into a state-of-the-art biomedical and digital innovation centre in Barcelona.

Project overview
How do you design a Global Hub to support scientific innovation?
AstraZeneca needed a new global model to integrate its biomedical research, technology and commercial teams. The goal was to create a flexible and highly advanced space capable of supporting a multidisciplinary workforce of more than 1,600 professionals from over 60 nationalities.
Located in the comprehensively renovated Estel building, the Hub adapts to a hybrid work model. It features open-plan work areas, meeting rooms and collaborative spaces designed to boost productivity and employee wellbeing. The upper floors house special amenities like training areas, a staff canteen and main boardrooms.
Project STORY
Driving comprehensive project delivery
Together with CBRE, we managed the end-to-end project management of the Hub - from early planning through to final delivery. Our team led the construction and coordinated all contractors, ensuring the facility met AstraZeneca's strict functional and technological requirements.
Delivering sustainable and economic value
The new Hub makes a significant positive impact on the local economy and community. The project supports more than 1,600 direct jobs and facilitates more than 385 research and development projects, including 190 active clinical trials.
Environmentally, the building features a large, glazed facade that floods the workspace with natural light while improving energy efficiency. Our environmental, social and governance team is currently securing Platinum LEED and WELL certifications to highlight the building's sustainability credentials.
