Transforming urban life in Riyadh with Sports Boulevard Foundation

Project overview
Testament to innovation and collaboration
The UK Pavilion at the Osaka Expo represents the merging of small ideas that can grow into transformative innovations.
This pavilion will testify to the UK’s inclusive and diverse culture, unifying the world’s greatest solution seekers to solve global challenges.
The pavilion is also an immersive exhibition experience, highlighting the history and future of British innovation and industry. The exhibition’s elements draw in the audience through a mixture of audio-visuals, lighting and interactive games and surfaces.
Strategic programme management
The UK’s Department for Business and Trade appointed us to provide project management, cost and commercial management and programme management capabilities across the design, construction and operational phases.
A collaborative culture was central to this project’s success and our teams in London and Osaka were mobilised to support the client in making strategic decisions.
The addition of our local Osaka office provided live intelligence on the local market and on-site development. This included engaging local experts at strategic points throughout the project to facilitate informed decision-making.
Realtime coordination and collaboration across time zones was essential and we implemented a cloud-based common data environment to establish a robust and secure approach for information management.
Sustainability in focus
The pavilion will provide an opportunity for the UK to connect with millions of visitors from across the globe. This includes participants from over 150 countries.
The Expo25 Association is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices to create a positive legacy in environmental, social and economic aspects. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were essential components in our sustainability framework. The pavilion was built on three key sustainability aspects: reducing waste, climate action and supply chain management.
These aspects encourage the adoption of innovative practices and technologies that minimise environmental impact. They also promote the use of renewable resources and support small- and medium-sized enterprises, strengthening the local economy.
