Appointed to support UK public sector carbon net-zero strategy

With a growing focus on achieving carbon net zero in the public sector, we have been named as a supplier on Lot 5 of Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Demand Management & Renewables Framework.

Formed of five Lots, this four-year framework will allow UK central government departments and other public sector bodies to access a wide range of decarbonisation products and services to support their carbon net-zero strategy.

Through the framework, public sector organisations will be able to access energy efficient products such as solar photovoltaic technology (solar panels, heat pumps and battery storage units), and essential services such as design and feasibility, installation and decommissioning. All of which will enable users to assess the green credentials of their project from start to finish.

As part of the Lot 5 (Carbon Net Zero Consultancy) appointment, our expert team will have the opportunity to provide a range of decarbonisation professional services to the public sector, central government, defence and residential sectors. This includes, but is not limited to, carbon reporting, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) technical services, carbon offsetting, decarbonisation pathways and building retrofit.

James Hardy, UK Sustainability Director, said:

The public sector is a major contributor to UK carbon emissions, and, as such, the pursuit of net zero remains at the forefront of delivery plans across many projects, programmes and portfolios. We are excited to be part of this fully approved supplier list in helping to meet these demands through tried and tested approaches, tools and techniques.

"The appointment demonstrates that Crown Commercial Service recognises our capability and track record of delivery to support this crucial transformation."

This appointment adds to our recent announcement as a supplier on Lot 2 of Crown Commercial Service’s G-Cloud 13 framework, and builds upon our existing work within the public sector including the Greater London Authority Retrofit Accelerator Programme.

Crown Commercial Service supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2021/22, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.8 billion – supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
