Hong Kong team wins at 2023 Hong Kong Green Building Awards

The biennial Green Building Awards recognise building-related projects and organisations with outstanding performances and contributions towards a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong.

Our Hong Kong team won the Grand Award at the 2023 Green Building Awards hosted by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC).

The Grand Award was given in the ‘Existing Buildings: Interior’ category for outstanding project- and cost management services in delivering Apollo Global Management’s new office fit out at One Exchange Square in Central Hong Kong.

Apollo’s 1,060m2 new office seamlessly blends the original interior fit out with the company’s brand and design aesthetics to create a bright, vibrant and collaborative work environment for its employees.

Sustainability benefits include a lighting system that uses daylight sensors, motion sensors and automatic blinds to reduce power consumption as well as ensure the optimal lighting level in the office space.

The project also received Platinum rating in the BEAM Plus certification and Excellent Class in the IAQ certification scheme, demonstrating how sustainability can be successfully integrated into modern office design. As the appointed project- and cost manager, our Hong Kong team managed the lighting, acoustic, IT, AV, security and sustainability consultants directly, while also providing specialist procurement and change management services.

The Green Building Awards encourage the wider adoption of sustainable planning, design, construction, management, operation, maintenance, renovation and decommissioning of buildings in Hong Kong. It is jointly organised by the HKGBC and the Professional Green Building Council.

Ollie Sneath, Head of Real Estate, Hong Kong and Macau, Asia, said:

Apollo’s One Exchange Square office fit out shows the possibilities of putting sustainability first, with the workspace planned, designed and fitted out to BEAM Plus Platinum standards.

“Being recognised with the Grand Award for our contributions to the project, and towards a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong, is a great honour for our team.”
