Turner & Townsend to work with Nexus on key public transport schemes in North East England
Turner & Townsend has been appointed by Nexus, the Tyne and Wear passenger Transport Executive, to its framework. This is as a supplier for project management, programme and portfolio planning, analytics and risk analysis services.
The framework, which will run for three years, with a possible two-year extension, strengthens Turner & Townsend's 14-year partnership with Nexus. It supports Nexus’s capital programme to improve regional connectivity through sustainable transport solutions.
This UK framework will span a major project portfolio, providing support to Nexus as it continues its investment in key transport assets, including the Tyne and Wear Metro system.
These projects demonstrate Nexus’ goals and Turner & Townsend’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions for the North East and the communities it serves.
Clare Wood, Director, Infrastructure, UK at Turner & Townsend, said:
Our appointment to this framework is a testament to our long-standing partnership with Nexus and our commitment to delivering exceptional Project Controls services. We are excited to support Nexus in achieving its ambitious vision for the region.
“This appointment exemplifies Turner & Townsend’s dedication to creating sustainable, community-focused developments. We look forward to working closely with Nexus to bring these projects to fruition and contribute to the ongoing transformation of the North East."
Paul Welford, Major Projects Director at Nexus, said:
We’re delighted to be working with Turner & Townsend on the delivery of some major capital projects which are going to be transformative for public transport in our region.
