Frank Alvarado
Global Head of Enterprise Project Management Operations
As Global Head of Enterprise Project Management Operations, I focus on optimising how we deliver capabilities for our largest clients. Many of these companies operate globally, so while regional nuance is important, a big part of my role is about ensuring consistency, strong governance and enabling our teams to deliver real impact.
I've spent most of my career at the intersection of project management, business strategy and talent development. I started out as an architect in the New York area before moving into project management, later earning an MBA. Over the years, I’ve built and led project management teams at JLL and Mace before joining CBRE in 2013.
Since then, I’ve expanded our project management capabilities across the US and internationally. Now, as part of Turner & Townsend, I’m excited to help shape the next phase of our growth, integrating our capabilities and supporting our people and clients.

Q. What motivates you in your work?
A. I love the entrepreneurial nature of this business - it’s always about innovation, growth and finding new ways to serve clients. The other big driver for me is the opportunity to help people develop their careers and grow as individuals. This is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.

A. CBRE Project Management and Turner & Townsend coming together is an incredibly exciting opportunity for us and our clients. We’re at a point in time when we need fresh ideas, new technology and bold thinking to help businesses succeed, but also to help our planet and people to thrive. No one in our industry is better positioned to provide this than our new, combined enterprise.
Q. What have been some of your career highlights?
A. I’ve had the privilege of working on transformative projects in Mexico, Spain, Brazil and across the US. Beyond the projects themselves, what stands out the most is seeing great teams emerge from them.
Every time I’ve worked on a major assignment, I’ve seen new leaders grow and go on to do incredible things. For me, each project is an opportunity to help people discover their strengths and build the next generation of leaders.
Q. What are you most proud of in your career?
A. The relationships I’ve built. Seeing colleagues whom I’ve mentored become industry leaders, trusted advisors and even clients is incredibly rewarding. Knowing I’ve played a part in their journey is what makes my work meaningful.
Q. What advice would you give someone starting out in the industry?
A. Be open to exploring different aspects of the business. Try to take on different types of projects – you never know what will spark your passion. The other thing I always say is, bring your authentic self to work. You don’t need years of experience to add value. Your perspective matters.
