Supporting Thames Water’s ambitious plans to safeguard water security in Southeast

We have been appointed as partners on Thames Water’s FA2051 Programme Partner Framework to support the organisation in its ambitious plans to safeguard water security for future generations in the Southeast.

Working in partnership with Laing O’Rourke Delivery Limited, The Nichols Group Limited and supported by Queenswood Engagement and Strategy Limited, we will assist Thames Water with its £4.7bn future investment programmes designed to safeguard water resilience to the South of England.

We will provide general programme partner support services, cost planning and estimating, schedule management, risk management, procurement support and market engagement, technical controls, as well as strategic commercial advice. The framework will run for three years, with the possibility of a five-year extension to 2032.

The framework is designed to improve infrastructure management during the development phase of the programme and subsequent phases in support of Thames Water’s objectives to deliver the major infrastructure needed to meet the water scarcity challenges ahead, including climate change and a growing population.

Thames Water predicts that across London and the Thames Valley, it will need an additional 1bn litres of water every day for its customers in the next 50 years.

Our consortium has a wealth of experience setting up and evolving programme management organisations for major programmes and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP) including Thames Tideway Tunnel, Northern Line Extension and Heathrow Expansion. Our team will use this learning to deliver efficient project delivery for the Strategic Resource Options Programme.

James Corrigan, Infrastructure Managing Director, UK commented:

The UK water industry is adapting to emerging pressures, including shifts in rainfall patterns, increased network demands, and heightened environmental regulations. These formidable challenges necessitate a fundamental reconsideration of investment strategies and asset management approaches within the sector.

“This unique partnership brings together our combined global knowledge in delivering major complex infrastructure programmes, each will bring its specific expertise to support Thames Water to realise the programme outcomes.”
