Australia team wins at the Asia-Pacific Project Controls Expo Awards

Our Australia team celebrated a double victory at the Asia-Pacific Project Controls Expo Awards, with our projects winning in the innovation of the year and transformation project of the year categories.

The Project Controls Expo Awards recognise the achievements of an individual, project, programme or organisation. Six of our people and projects were shortlisted for the awards, with two of our projects announced as winners. The winning projects are:

Hong Kong MTR digital project management office

Category: Asia-Pacific Project Controls Innovation of the Year

We digitally transformed Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway Corporation’s (MTR) project management office (PMO) by implementing innovative and integrated project controls to enhance MTR’s economic efficiency, improve reporting accuracy and positively impact programme outcomes.

Our team combined agile project management techniques, stakeholder engagement and a commitment to continuous improvement to develop a portfolio management information hub. This hub has transformed MTR’s ways of working and is now the single source of truth for data-driven decisions across its portfolio.

Sydney Water infrastructure portfolio – investment management office (IP-IMO) build

Category: Asia-Pacific Transformation Project of the Year

Sydney Water ensures quality water and wastewater services for more than five million people in the city. Due to growing population, ageing infrastructure and commitment to climate-resilience, Sydney Water’s capital portfolio has become larger and more complex.

We led the development of a new portfolio level investment management office (IMO), known as the IP-IMO. The IP-IMO aims to enhance, improve and transform governance and assurance functions across Sydney Water’s significant investment portfolio. This improves the performance and monitoring of investments and benefits.

Darren Munton, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, said:

“Being recognised in the innovation and transformation categories at this year’s Asia-Pacific Project Control Expo Awards reflects our team’s capabilities and commitment to providing our clients with market-leading project controls that impart confidence and assurance over their capital investments.”

“As projects, programmes and portfolios become more complex, robust project controls are critical to keep them on track, minimise risk and ensure success. I am proud of our team that continues to create value and ensure better outcomes for our clients.”
