Recognizing the need for supply chain diversity
Organizations across the world are recognising the need to diversify their workforce and supply chain. Working with suppliers from a range of demographics is a critical driver for innovation and collaboration, as well as expansion into new markets.
Engaging diverse-owned businesses is also important for economic growth and job creation in often overlooked communities whose residents live and work close to our project locations.
Companies who are taking the initiative to drive change will reap the benefits, as a supplier diversity program bolsters supply chain capacity and allows for innovative ideas and different perspectives, creating resilience and building trust in the community.
A holistic approach
Through our supplier diversity program, we provide innovative solutions and alternative perspectives on the projects and programs we work on to ensure proactive engagement with all parties. The use of data drives targeted initiatives, and compliance measures are in place so the client’s own targets are met.
Our supplier diversity program includes diverse-owned businesses and suppliers—‘XBE’ businesses which are identified by being at least 51% owned and/or operated by members of ethnic minority groups, women, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities and local businesses.

Driving ambitious targets
Our work in embedding supplier diversity spans multiple industries and locations, and we are starting to see real change, particularly in the U.S. To date, we have worked on major programs, one with a U.S.-based global finance company whose supplier diversity quota was originally set at 20 percent. With our help, they implemented a 51 percent utilization of diverse suppliers, ensuring $145m was invested into local communities.
We also worked with a U.S. airport on its modernization program in 2021 and supported the client to increase its original goal of 20% diverse suppliers to 35%.
Over the last two years, we have also been appointed to a number of large-scale projects, including a major infrastructure program in Colorado, a large film studio construction project in the northeast of the U.S. and a host of other projects, demonstrating the increasing reach of our supplier diversity programme.
