Where dreams take shape
The Singapore Pavilion, known as the ‘Dream Sphere’, is an immersive space showcasing Singapore's future-forward aspirations. The pavilion features a striking spherical structure nestled in a dream-like cloudscape. Over 17,000 recycled aluminum 'Dream Discs' of varying sizes, shades and textures cover its exterior to create a captivating sight.
Inside, visitors can explore immersive art installations that stimulate the five senses. This collective dream sphere embodies Singapore's commitment to innovation, resilience, sustainability and inclusivity. The pavillion allows guests to build on their own dreams, joining Singapore in building a better, shared vision for the future.
Leading the way on building works
Since December 2022, our Singapore and Japan teams have been providing project and cost and commercial management capabilities to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). This is from the initial planning stage to the current construction delivery phases and operational planning of the Singapore Pavilion at Expo 2025.
To ensure construction could begin as soon as possible and progress according to schedule, our teams assessed, regulated and streamlined the construction of the pavilion.
Working closely with public regulatory authorities and industry partners, we were able to support the STB in securing official permits to allow the construction team to take over the site in December 2023. Consequently, Singapore became the first of 55 countries to commence building works on its self-built pavilion in January 2024.
Through the use of modular and standardised components, the construction phase was streamlined, enabling the Singapore Pavilion to be one of the first pavilions to receive the Completion Certificate from Osaka City in January 2025.
Shaping a sustainable future
World Expo 2025 aims to showcase a vision of Society 5.0: a future human-centered society that can resolve complex global challenges.
The Expo focuses on how technologies like the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, big data and biotechnology can impact all aspects of society. This includes tackling the challenges posed by urbanisation, ageing populations and climate change.
In response, the Singapore Pavilion is designed to convey collective aspirations for a zero-waste, resilient future. With sustainability at its heart, the Singapore Pavilion embraces the ‘Reduce, Recycle, Renew and Reuse approach’, and circularity from design and construction to operations.
Our commitment to reducing environmental impact is evident in practices such as sourcing materials locally to minimise carbon emissions. This saves over 70 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions throughout its lifecycle, equivalent to the amount absorbed annually by about 2,500 trees.
The pavilion is equipped with building integrated photovoltaics to generate approximately 15,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy over the duration of the Expo.
The Pavilion also adopted a drip irrigation system, which reduces water consumption for landscaping by 60 percent.
