An all-round entertainment venue

Bradford Live, formerly the iconic ODEON cinema in Bradford’s city centre, is set to become the city's premier all-round entertainment venue. With a seating capacity of over 3,000 and a standing capacity exceeding 3,500, the state-of-the-art facility will host a diverse array of entertainment events, bringing new vibrancy to the heart of Bradford.

The venue has a rich history, first opening its doors as a ballroom and theatre, later evolving to serve as a live music venue and a cinema.

The redevelopment of this historic site reestablishes its status as a central hub for entertainment in Bradford, offering a dynamic space for performances and events that will draw both locals and visitors.

Preserving the legacy

Leveraging our experience in the sports, leisure and hospitality sector, our project management and cost and commercial management teams supported the refurbishment of the venue.

This encompassed the installation of a state-of-the-art LED screen, the integration of modern, energy-efficient lighting systems and the construction of a new extension at the rear of the building. This accommodated additional facilities such as a seating storage facility, offices and commercial kitchen spaces.

The venue’s history was placed at the forefront and factored into the building’s enhancements.

With a steadfast commitment to preserving its historical integrity, the structure was retained, along with several of its original features, including a fully restored ballroom.

A catalyst for growth

The refurbishment of the venue is central to growth and revitalisation plans for Bradford. It is estimated that the new venue will attract over 300,000 visitors each year and Bradford Council predicts that the venue will perform a vital role in the council’s long-term regeneration plans.

By 2050, it’s expected to contribute around £580m to the local economy, solidifying its importance as a cornerstone of Bradford’s future development.
