Turner & Townsend appointed as client representative on the Camden Film Quarter project
The London Borough of Camden (Camden Council) has appointed Turner & Townsend, the global professional services company, as client representative for its Regeneration Strategy for Regis Road, a growth area of strategic importance in Kentish Town. This is a significant and strategic win for the business’s central and local government business unit.
Camden Council is working with Yoo Capital, a real estate investment and development firm, to support regeneration in the area. This includes Yoo Capital’s proposed Camden Film Quarter, which aims to establish a cluster of film and television studios in the heart of London.
The completed project is expected to offer a unique and vibrant neighbourhood with film, television and digital content production at its core.
As part of a highly sustainable new neighbourhood, it will also deliver private and affordable housing, public green spaces and community amenities for Camden residents.
Appointed through the Notting Hill Genesis framework, Turner & Townsend will act as client representative for Camden Council, developing its requirements for the replacement facilities on the land to be occupied by the Camden Film Quarter. Turner & Townsend will also provide project management, cost monitoring and design assurance services.
Malcolm Turner, Project Director, Real Estate, UK at Turner & Townsend, said:
Being appointed as the client representative for the Regis Road Regeneration Area is a testament to Turner & Townsend's expertise and commitment to transformative urban regeneration.
“This project not only aims to establish a cluster of the film and television studios in a transformed, sustainable, mixed-use neighbourhood in the heart of London, but to seamlessly re-provide existing council depot facilities and services, a reuse and recycling centre and replacement homes for 25 households, all to be built to agreed standards.”
