Sean Christie
Sean is a retired FTSE 100 CFO with special experience in M&A, finance, risk management, corporate governance, strategy and IT. 

From 2006 to 2015, Sean was Finance Director of Croda International plc, a global manufacturer of speciality chemicals. Prior to joining Croda he was Finance Director of Northern Foods plc. He has also served as a non-executive director at KCOM plc, Eminate Ltd and Cherry Valley Farms Ltd.

A Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Corporate Treasurers, Sean has extensive knowledge of finance and strategy in multi-national businesses. Sean chairs our Audit Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee. 

Sean has held various non-executive director roles in a variety of sectors and in his early career in various finance and management roles in the food industry.

Q. How has your career at Turner & Townsend developed?

A. I have been a non-executive director at Turner & Townsend for three years. The job title hasn’t changed but my experience has increased, so hopefully my contribution to board discussions continues to improve.

Q. Which project are you most proud of being involved in at Turner & Townsend?

A. Work on the development of our risk management and IT development processes.

Q. How do you see the business developing over the next five years?

A. It will consolidate its international footprint and broaden its abilities into new sectors.

Q. What have been your career highlights?

A.  My highlights have been buying ICI’s speciality chemical business for Croda, floating Express Dairies as a Plc and becoming CFO for the first time!
