Q. How has your career at Turner & Townsend developed?

A. I joined Turner & Townsend in 1999 as a commercial manager – my first project was the Wellcome Trust headquarters on Euston Road in London. Promoted in 2006 to head the firm's rail business, we won the Crossrail programme management partner as part of Transcend. Later, leading our UK infrastructure business, we became the sole provider of cost management, commercial and project controls services for capital investment at Heathrow. In 2018, I became Managing Director of the UK Business and part of the Executive Board.

Q. Which project are you most proud of being involved in at Turner & Townsend?

A. I am proud to be associated with Crossrail  one of the most ambitious and extensive infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Europe. As with all major programmes, Crossrail was complex to initiate and to bring into use, aiming to bring 1.5 million passengers within 45 minutes of central London. Crossrail is a fantastic accomplishment for London in the 21st Century and for our industry.

Q. How do you see the business developing over the next five years?

A. I think our ambition as a business remains unchanged. As an independent partnership, we hope to continue to be a magnet for talent in our industry; to work on admired projects; contribute to the communities where we operate and to advise our clients in setting up programmes for success – including those in an increasingly digital environment.
