Q. What attracted you to join Turner & Townsend?
I first heard of Turner & Townsend when they acquired the Australian quantity surveying business Rawlinson’s in 2005. Soon after this I met various people from Turner & Townsend and started to learn about the global business, approach, client and projects. This attracted me initially to the company but it was the Turner & Townsend people and culture that was the ultimate deciding factor. I wasn’t even looking for a new job at the time but I was certain that Turner & Townsend was the company to grow my career and develop myself professionally.
Q. How do you contribute to Turner & Townsend making a difference?
Engaging with our clients, listening to what our clients really need and want, and finding the right solution for them that exceeds their expectations. Through this we develop long term trusted partner relationships with clients which I respect and uphold. When challenges present themselves I personally get involved to find the solution required.
Q. Describe your typical day.
It’s hard to describe a ‘typical’ day due to the diverse nature of the Turner & Townsend business, our clients, projects and people. However, most days will be a combination of meeting with various clients and internal meetings with colleagues discussing a whole range of topics from new business opportunities, service excellence and assurance to team engagement and financial performance.
Q. How do you see your career progressing at Turner & Townsend?
From my current position as Managing Director of South East Asia I see great opportunities for me ahead as the Turner & Townsend business continues to grow and expand globally. We have a fantastic business model which is truly integrated and global, and a unique independent position since many of our competitors have been acquired by much larger real estate and engineering business over the years. This means we can attract the best clients, the best people and be a true independent trusted advisor in the construction industry. This is immensely exciting for me and my career.
