Ryan leads our contracts and expert practice in the Middle East. He joined Turner & Townsend as a graduate in the UK, then taking on a range of international assignments. He has over 20 years’ experience in the UK and internationally.

Ryan has acted as a quantum expert in arbitration and litigation cases in the Middle East, Europe and the UK and has testified on no less than 15 occasions. He is bilingual (English and Arabic) and is equally able to advise clients in formal matters and proceedings conducted in either language. 

Ryan also provides independent expert opinion across the infrastructure, energy and natural resources, and real estate sectors. He is often retained to advise in matters of commercial and dispute resolution strategy in the context of major projects, often exceeding several billion dollars in value.  

Ryan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, an Accredited Mediator, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration, a Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying, and a BA in Arabic Studies. 

Ryan is recognised as a Leading Expert in Construction by Who’s Who Legal (WWL). This recognition highlights Ryan's exceptional expertise in handling disputes and claims related to major project quantum and delay issues. WWL identifies top legal experts across more than 150 countries and is a free platform to enable people to find the best legal and dispute related practitioners. Fewer than 50 percent of nominees achieve the ‘Recommended – Construction Expert Witness’ status Ryan has received, underscoring his expertise in the field.
