Turner & Townsend is committed to creating opportunities for children and young people from diverse backgrounds to achieve their potential.

Our aim is to equip children and young people with the confidence, skills and knowledge to achieve their life and career goals.

Building on this commitment we have set ourselves an ambitious target of reaching 5000 young people and children this year through our education and employment programmes.

Today, we launch #TT5000futures to celebrate this commitment and inspire our network to do the same. Over 250 million children, adolescents and young people worldwide do not have access to quality education and as employers, we understand the challenge this creates to our future talent and ambitions as a business. Together, we can have a significant impact on this social issue.

Removing barriers to education, raising aspirations and improving employability have been a key to our community value strategy for a number of years. In 2016 – 17 we asked our employees #TTwhatsyourpledge? where our employees committed to using their employee volunteering days to support young people and children. As a result, we were delighted that Turner & Townsend employees gave 6,230 hours to volunteering, many of which directly working with children and young people through mentoring, employability workshops or as ambassadors for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

In 2017 – 2018 we continued this commitment, launching our partnership with the National Literacy Trust in the UK and building on our existing programmes across the globe.
