Top hire boosts team in South East Asia
Ian Williams has been appointed director to grow existing business and drive opportunities in new emerging markets/sectors
We have recruited a senior project management expert as Director to head up business operations in Malaysia.
Ian Williams, who has almost 25 years experience in project management, will be primarily responsible for operations in Malaysia but also help develop new business opportunities across South East Asia within the property and infrastructure sectors.
Ian comes with a wealth of industry knowledge and thorough understanding of the region, having spent the past four years leading project management for CBRE and latterly Savills in Malaysia. Prior to this, he worked almost 20 years in leading consultancies in the UK including the property company Watts Group.
The new director role will not only focus on delivering our long-term strategic objectives in Malaysia. Ian will also be in charge of developing new client relationships and strengthening existing ones throughout the region.
Commenting on his new role, Ian Williams said:
“I’ve worked alongside Turner & Townsend throughout my career, and each time, I’ve always been impressed by the consultancy’s exceptional level of expertise and professionalism.
“I am now delighted to be joining the business as it grows in core sectors in Malaysia and South East Asia, including property and infrastructure, notably having recently been appointed to support the new Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High Speed Rail Link. I will relish the challenge of helping the Asia team meet its short and medium term growth objectives.”
Duncan Stone, Regional Managing Director, commented:
"The outlook for construction in Malaysia remains strong. Relatively low construction costs, labour rates and a favourable exchange rate will continue to make Malaysia an attractive proposition to investors.
“Ian joins the company at an exciting time. The South East Asia team is currently involved in a number of high-profile projects, and I am confident that his expertise and energy will help us continue to expand into several key target sectors.”
