Supporting economic development programmes across Cape Town
We have been appointed by the City of Cape Town to manage a multidisciplinary team supporting the rollout of a comprehensive programme of projects to stimulate economic development across the City.
The Economic Growth Directorate, as the mandated authority for the City of Cape Town, has developed plans that are geared towards a vision focused on economic development and urban inclusivity.
This three-year appointment will see us work with the Directorate and lead the multidisciplinary team in designing and implementing regeneration projects across the City, such as markets and social facilities. We will provide programme management, project management, planning and quantity surveying services, while Bergstan Engineers will lead the design team.
These regeneration projects take place as the City of Cape Town embarks on a major growth and infrastructure delivery strategy in line with the greater national government priority of repurposing and upgrading urban structures.
The Economic Growth Directorate programme is the latest in a long history of us working with the City of Cape Town and celebrating 40 years in the South African market, providing the essential combination of local knowledge and global best practice.
We have supported the City on a variety of major projects, including the My Citi Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) System, the Bracken Nature Reserve, Cape Town Convention Centre, City Hall Refurbishment, Athlone Stadium Refurbishment, Grand Parade Kiosks, and Substations across the City.
Wanda Chunnett, Director said:
This programme will see the City of Cape Town undergo a major transformation over the next few years to become more efficient and more inclusive from an economic point of view. As local representatives of a leading global consultancy, we are proud to have advised and supported the City of Cape Town for the past decade as the City realises its ambition to provide world class infrastructure for the growing population.
