New office in Tokyo unveiled to support our growth in Japan

We have opened a new office in Tokyo to continue the successful delivery of major projects and programmes for our clients in Japan with a focus on the real estate occupier market.

Our service offering in the country includes net-zero and digital solutions alongside project, programme, cost and commercial management, typically spanning data centres, hospitality, leisure, life sciences, industrial, mixed-use developments and retail.

The new office is located at G-BASE TAMACHI in Shinagawa, Tokyo, and is our second location in Japan following the opening of our Osaka home last year. In total, we have 66 people on the ground and continue to build a strong client base as we expand our service offerings in the country.

With project delivery underway of the UK, Singapore and Australia pavilions for World Expo 2025 in Osaka, our new office is an ideal destination for ease of access between the capital and Osaka to benefit both our team and our clients.

Furthermore, our new home in Tokyo is focused on meeting long-term sustainability objectives including the installation of a zip tap to reduce plastic waste, the use of recycled furniture as part of the fit-out including all desks and chairs, and the office building is ranked ‘A’ through the Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency, the equivalent to environmental performance of very good in Japan.

Nick Heald, Country Director, comments:

Five years on since establishing Turner & Townsend in Japan, we are proud to open our new Tokyo office following exponential growth. We are committed to becoming a leading provider of professional services across construction projects and major programmes in the country to deliver for our clients in an ever-evolving market.

"Our new office will enable us to work even more collaboratively with our clients and partners, as we take tangible steps towards meeting our environmental objectives and enhancing employee wellbeing."
