New appointments and office relocation heralds growth in the Netherlands
After more than 15 years of continued growth in the region, we have appointed a new country manager for the Netherlands and relocated to a larger office in Amsterdam.
Luke Bartolo has been part of the successful Netherlands business for the last five years. He has more than 15 years’ industry-related management experience – including eight at international construction and development company Brookfield Multiplex in Australia.
He will lead an experienced team of more than 60 professionals – which has grown by 25 percent in the past year – from their brand new office within Amsterdam’s landmark skyscraper Rembrandt Tower. The relocation also follows a 25 percent growth in revenue in the financial year 2015/2016.
The new 650m2 office – more than triple the previous size - will provide additional flexible work spaces for future expansion and includes complimentary meeting and conferencing facilities to host local and internationally based clients.
We have also strengthened the Netherlands leadership team by appointing a new director Gerard Streng, who brings with him more than 20 years of international and local experience, and expertise across the architecture, engineering and construction sectors.
The global consultancy operates across four market sectors in the Benelux - property, infrastructure, natural resources and hi-tech & manufacturing - for both private and public clients having most recently secured a new commission with Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Luke Bartolo, Country Manager Netherlands, said: “We are proud of the growth we have achieved over the last two decades, consolidating our position in the property, infrastructure, natural resources and hi-tech & manufacturing market sectors and maturing our service proposition in consultancy, programme and project management, cost management and facility management.
“The Rembrandt Tower is a fantastic location and facility for Turner & Townsend in the Benelux. It provides a first-class location for all of our staff to work from and is a recognisable and high-quality space, which supports our brand. We are looking forward to welcoming all of our clients in a space that now meets our expectations as a business.”
Gerard Streng, Director, added: “Turner & Townsend thrives off its ability to combine a global reach with local expertise. Having worked across Europe and in the US, I aim to support the company’s growth by bringing my international experience to the Netherlands team, and by putting our brand out further into the local market.”
