Vincent Clancy, CEO of Turner & Townsend, commented:

“The Government announcement for Hinkley Point C is a defining moment, not just for the infrastructure sector but for the UK economy as a whole.

“We are excited to be supporting such an historic project. Hinkley Point C will not only create a long-standing and sustainable legacy for the South West but will kick-start a new nuclear programme that will help secure the UK’s energy future.

“At its peak there will be around 5,600 people working on Hinkley Point C.  Delivering a programme of such scale will require a truly collaborative approach. With our experience working on the world’s most challenging and complex programmes including Crossrail, Sellafield and Abu Dhabi airport, we are well positioned to work with EDF Energy and the supply chain to ensure complexity is managed and the programme’s goals are met.
