Delivering one of the UK’s largest COVID-19 Lighthouse testing laboratories
We have completed delivery of one of the largest COVID-19 Lighthouse testing laboratories in the UK for Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We provided programme, project and cost management services on the laboratory.
The 6,500m2 facility houses 13 state of the art testing modules, office, training, and welfare facilities. Located in Gateshead, the laboratory is now operational and delivering high-volume, rapid turnaround of COVID-19 tests.
At the start of the project our team agreed an outline programme, the target cost and finalised contract documents. This enabled the commencement of works on site within seven days of the main contracting organisation being identified.
Our project and cost management team were also on site from day one of the four-month project. We worked in collaboration with the hospital trust’s stakeholders and the main contracting organisation to ensure the laboratory’s completion.
