Risk management system wins CIR award

We have won the Public Sector Risk Management Award at the annual CIR Risk Management awards with Northern Ireland Water (NI Water).

We were selected by NI Water as its principal consultant to reinvigorate risk management practices and deliver a best in class risk management system. The resulting Capital, Procurement, Monitoring and Reporting (CPMR) Risk Management System uses technology and industry best practice to standardise the management of risk and contingency budgets at NI Water.

In 16 months the CPMR Risk Management system has delivered capital efficiencies of circa £2.3m and is expected to generate long term capital savings in the coming years.

Ryan Abernethy, Risk Manager, Infrastructure Scotland & Ireland, said:

“We are delighted to win the Public Sector award at this year’s CIR Risk Awards. This award recognises all the hard graft that Turner & Townsend and NI Water have put in over the past two years to deliver a best in class CPMR Risk Management System. Our approach to collaborative working, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and an openness to embrace and deliver change has been the cornerstone of our success.”

Roisin Connor, Senior Programme Risk & Value Manager, NI Water, said:

Our win at the CIR awards is extremely encouraging and a fantastic acknowledgement to the hard work undertaken over the past year by the NI Water and Turner & Townsend team. We’re only just getting started this is a promising start to our construction risk management journey. Well done to all involved.”
