CIPS award for excellence in procurement processes

We are the first consultancy to be recognised by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) for excellence in the procurement processes that it provides for clients in the construction sector.

Our Contract Services team has received a Procurement Excellence Programme (PEP) award from CIPS, the global professional body for supply chain management.

Commended at standard level, the assessors highlighted how delivering procurement services is an integral part of our business, creating value within our organisation and for our clients.

PEP is a globally recognised award presented to those organisations demonstrating excellence in their procurement and supply chain activities. The award drives regular improvements, value across supply chains and highlights procurement’s role as a fundamental part of an organisation’s strategy and effectiveness.

Our Contract Services team specialises in procurement for major capital projects and programmes across the real estate, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

The CIPS assessors said our skill in managing key stakeholder consultations in the development of procurement policies was worthy of note and using ‘intelligent procurement’ to produce procurement strategies aligned to our clients’ organisational strategies.

Gareth Poole, Director, Contract Services said:

Being recognised by CIPS for our procurement excellence is a testament to the high standards our team operate to.

"The foundations of project and programme success are laid at the earliest stage and transforming the way our industry does procurement is absolutely vital if we are to meet the challenges we face, from addressing the UK’s regional inequalities to achieving net zero."

Alan Martin, Head of Procurement Excellence at CIPS said:

By achieving the award, Turner & Townsend’s Contract Services team are ensuring that best practice in procurement is created with all the clients they serve through their consultancy practice, getting the best in efficiencies and effectiveness.

“I congratulate them on reaching standard level and look forward to continuing to work with them to achieve ever-higher levels of strong procurement practice.”
