Atlantis Aquaventure makes waves as one of the world’s largest waterparks

Following a journey of innovation, the completion of the Aquaventure waterpark expansion project, saw the refreshed and much anticipated attraction officially open to the general public on 1 March 2021.

Having grown a third in size, Aquaventure now features a total of 28 brand-new, record-breaking waterslides and attractions (bringing its total to 105).

New attractions include: the world’s tallest waterslide of its kind, the longest family water coaster in the world of its kind, the tallest vertical drop body slide in the Middle East, and the region’s first cliff jumping experience.

The expansion comes as a result of Atlantis The Palm's commitment towards realising the Dubai Government’s vision of the city becoming a prime, global tourist destination.

Clive Parsons, Senior Project Manager said:

We are extremely proud to have supported Atlantis with project and cost management services for the project's expansion and throughout its entire lifecycle – from design consultant selection until project delivery.

"Significant value engineering by our consultants has ensured that the client’s expectations were continuously met in the lead up to the successful project delivery of this momentous expansion.

The waterpark adds to Dubai’s exhibition of world-class tourism and magnificent destinations.

"The successful completion of this project further enhances our portfolio of delivering iconic attractions around the world."

Our client, Shawn Adams, Vice President, Special Projects, Atlantis The Palm said:

With the upcoming Dubai Expo projected to attract 25 million visitors over a period of six months, the expansion of Aquaventure forms part of Atlantis The Palm’s wider campus renovation works, instigated to accommodate the projected influx of visitors.

Hudson Fountain, Director said:

It’s been a fantastic journey. We are honoured to be Atlantis The Palm’s trusted adviser, consistently striving to exceed their aspirations.

"Working on such an iconic development has really strengthened our position in the leisure sector. We’re extremely proud to have worked on what we anticipate will be an award-winning tourist attraction.”

A testament to Atlantis The Palm’s continual commitment towards delivering exceptional guest experiences that ‘capture the world’s imagination,’ the expansion is expected to eclipse a host of new and existing waterparks that have opened in the region.
