Paul Howlett

Head of Communications and Marketing

We have been appointed by the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium Ltd (NEUPC) to two Lots on its £80m construction professional services framework agreement.

The framework, which is being used by Newcastle, Durham, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside Universities, has split the work into four Lots.

Under the framework, which will be made available for the next five years, we will provide a range of services including:

  • Lot 1: project management, project lead, cost management, principal designer, Building Information Modelling, contract administration, Principal Designer, Clerk of Works, BREEAM advisor and planning advice.
  • Lot 4: financial advisory services, financial modelling, accountancy services, and DBFO services.

Darren Laybourn, our director said:

We are delighted to secure a place on this significant framework. We have a strong track record of successfully delivering projects for the higher education sector, with projects in the North-East totalling over £450m in the last five years alone.

“The world-class universities in the region have ambitious plans to continue to attract students and first-class academic teams. This framework not only provides us with the opportunity to make a difference to their future plans but also continue supporting the North East to remain one of the best places in the UK to study and carry out cutting edge research.”

Significant recent projects in the region include the Urban Sciences Building and the National Innovation Centre for Data for Newcastle University and the Palatine Building for Durham University.
