£9K contributed to top children’s charities at our annual partners meeting

Our 84 partners donated £8,990 to leading global children’s charities at our annual partners meeting in July.

In our first annual meeting since our switch to a limited liability partnership model, partners from across the business each chose how to allocate company funds to best realise our corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments.

Each partner was given a Turner & Townsend £70 note, representing 70 years of business, to make a corporate donation to a one of our four leading children’s charities. These were Action for Children, UNICEF, Save the Children and Oxfam. The charities tackle social issues in a variety of ways, but all work towards the same goal: to bring about positive change for disadvantaged children in the UK and across the world.

The total donated to each charity was:

  • £2,100 Action for Children
  • £1,400 UNICEF
  • £1,820 Save the Children
  • £560 Oxfam

Other charitable activities at our annual general meeting included personal donations from partners, raising a total of £3,110 for our UK corporate charity partner Action for Children. Staff also recently raised £5,400 for the cause at the 100 mile Prudential RideLondon cycle. The money will go towards an education fund that enables disadvantaged children and families to cover the cost of school essentials.

Our commitment to supporting children and young people to reach their potential is a key part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach. Over the past year we have made strong progress, led by our CSR Committee and champions across every region.

In 2015-2016 we raised £218,600 for charities across our global business. We are well-positioned to step up our impact this year through our collective volunteering and fundraising efforts.
