As an apprentice at Turner & Townsend, you will have the opportunity to study whilst gaining work experience and completing our internal development programme. Typically you will work full time four days a week and attend university or college and/or complete apprenticeship activities one day per week.

UK apprenticeship programme
We offer higher-level apprenticeships, giving you the chance to study for a degree part time. Over the course of the Apprenticeship Development programme, you will receive market-leading training through our technical training academy, as well as a range of soft-skill and on-the-job learning. Apprentices also benefit from a wide range of support and development from their training provider delivering the degree part of the programme.
Programmes we offer
Whatever you choose, you will finish your programme at the same level as a Graduate who has completed University and our two-year Graduate Development Programme.
Cost and commercial management
Apprentices will follow the Level 6 chartered surveyor apprenticeship standard. This programme runs over five years and includes studying for a BSc in Quantity Surveying.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you qualify as a Chartered Member (MRICS) of RICS.
Project management
Apprentices will follow the Level 6 project manager apprenticeship standard. This programme runs over four years and includes a BSc in Project Management and an International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D qualification.
On successful completion, apprentices are eligible to become full members of Association for Project Management (APM), the chartered body for the project profession.
Project controls
Apprentices will follow the Level 6 project controls professional apprenticeship standard. This will run over four years and will include working towards a qualification in project controls.
On successful completion, apprentices are eligible to become full members of ACostE (Association of Cost for ICostE (Incorporated Cost Engineer) the chartered body for the project profession.
Digital
Apprentices will follow the Level 6 digital and technology solutions apprenticeship standard. This will run over four years and will include working towards a BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions.

What we are looking for
The apprentices we recruit are strategic, analytically thinkers who see solutions where others see challenges. They come from diverse backgrounds, and have a genuine enthusiasm for how the world works and a love for learning on the job.
Eligibility criteria
- Right to live and work in the UK and must have lived in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last three years
- Five GCSEs, grades A*-C including Maths and English (grade 4 and above in new grading system or equivalent e.g. functional skills)
- Three A Levels at grade B or above, or equivalent e.g. BTEQ level 3 grades DDM.
Application process

1. Online application form
Submit your CV and complete our online application questions. You will need to provide us with your top three preferred locations.

2. Online assessments
If successful you will then be invited to complete our online assessment. This is a timed online assessment, and you will be given a week to complete this. You are not able to prepare for this assessment and it will assess you on your behaviours in the workplace.

3. Video interview
If you successfully pass our online assessments, then you will be invited to complete a video interview. This will focus on competency questions as well as your motivation for the opportunities we offer. Please make sure you have done your research as you will be asked questions around the business and the projects we work on.

- Closing date: You will have seven days to complete once you receive the link.
4. Assessment centre
Our next and final stage is the assessment centre. This will focus on different competencies along with your motivation to join our business and the work we do. If you are invited to the assessment centre you will be sent all detail in advance of the day so you will have full detail and information on what to prepare.
- Opening date: May 2023
- Closing date: You will be invited to a set assessment day with seven days’ notice. Assessment days take place Monday – Friday between 9:00 – 17:30 so you will need to be flexible.
5. Offer and onboarding
You will hear your outcome approximately ten working days after your assessment centre.
