This year, we helped investors AFI Europe to win the BREEAM Central and Eastern Europe award for V.Offices.

The development in Kraków scored 90.57 percent in the world’s leading sustainability assessment, setting it apart as the highest scoring project in Poland to date.

AFI Europe wanted a green building that would stand out as an example for the Polish market. Having strong experience in sustainable office buildings, we were able to apply our knowledge to support this objective from the very early stages of the project.

Marcin Pawlowicz, from our project management team in Kraków, believes it will help to drive change in Poland, most notably in Kraków which is one of Europe’s most polluted cities.

This was a fantastic opportunity to work with the design team and AFI Europe to deliver a progressive office development that will create a tangible difference to offices in Poland.

“By using BREEAM we helped to find solutions that facilitated delivery of an outstanding green building. This included the installation of an independent heat source accompanied by solar collectors and energy efficiency systems across the build. V.Offices also incorporates a car sharing system, electric car charging points and cyclist facilities to encourage users of the building to commute to work in ways that limit air pollution.”

Construction is now underway to reduce dust and water pollution from building works and protecting local wildlife. BREEAM assessment will be carried out post-construction when an equally high rating is anticipated.
