Managing Director, Cost Management, UK
We strive to be the leader of data, digital and economics of sustainability and deliver something truly unique in the market.
I began my career with Turner & Townsend in 2011 as a Cost Manager in the Newcastle office, working across a diverse range of projects and sectors. In 2014, I moved to Manchester to support major capital programme delivery for Manchester City Council as a Project Manager, before returning to the Northeast in 2016 to lead a growing team and strengthen our presence in the student accommodation sector.
In 2019 I became Cost Centre Lead for Newcastle and in 2020 brought together the Newcastle and Teesside teams to form a unified and highly successful Northeast business. I was promoted to Regions Lead in 2025, before stepping into my current role of Managing Director, Cost Management, UK, continuing a journey shaped by growth, collaboration and long‑term impact.
A. It was two-fold – the quality of the people and the size of the opportunity. The team were well known in the market as market leading and at the time, of over four years since graduation, I could see the difference in the projects and clients they worked with. Turner & Townsend has lived up to and exceeded my expectations.
A. Since joining Turner & Townsend I have accelerated in my career moving through multiple grades and taking several new roles and opportunities – something that just wasn’t possible with my previous employer. I’ve always been an advocate of getting involved in initiatives to drive the business forward and work with our teams nationally alongside looking after our clients and people.
A. I’ve worked on projects ranging from £300k to £1bn. The one that sticks with me is supporting the North East Autism Society on a range of projects. We jumped in mid-way through a project to turn it around and put in place all the typical elements that enable successful delivery.
Without the support of the Turner & Townsend team, the project would have been delivered significantly over budget, late and of poor quality – which is just not right for any client but especially a charity which uses all available funds to support vulnerable children.
A. A typical day doesn’t exist but there are themes – people, clients, digital transformation and bids. The variety is something I really enjoy and thrive on alongside being able to spend time in each of our regional offices and London office.
