Organisations are more acutely aware than ever of the value of their people, their contribution and their skills. The drive to attract, develop and retain the best possible staff is seen as an absolute priority. This delivers a high-performing team focussed on the best possible outcomes.

Whether implementing organisational change programmes, managing communications with stakeholders, encouraging learning and development, implementing workplace change, developing new organisational structures or encouraging teams in a spirit of partnership, Turner & Townsend can provide support and advice in the strategy, planning and delivery.

Stakeholder Management

The need to identify and manage the programme stakeholders is paramount. We help to identify and then actively monitor stakeholder issues by incorporating them in an interactive stakeholder database. Our programme then manages the interdependencies between the stakeholders and other relevant project work streams and is developed collaboratively with the client and project team.

Our stakeholder work is typically carried out in conjunction with strategic communication planning, to identify and manage key issues that affect project delivery.

Turner & Townsend has extensive experience creating strategic communications for clients. We understand the need for consistent, coherent and clear messages to be shared through appropriate channels to reach the target audience. We work with out clients in delivering key messages, creating engaging mechanisms for sharing information, and establishing and monitoring appropriate feedback loops.

We also work with client teams to create a strategy which will manage on-going communications throughout any programme or project.

Workplace Change

One of the most emotive and difficult aspects of people change. The work environment can no longer be viewed as a passive overhead but rather as a powerful and integral aspect of business, which, given the right attention and investment, can significantly enhance the effectiveness of organisational delivery.

Equally, it is vital to ensure that staff within an organisation are appropriately supported through a workplace change programme to ensure a smooth transition to the new working environment with the minimum disruption to the business.

Turner & Townsend work to ensure that there is real engagement and dialogue with people. We use ‘mass communications’ (newsletters, emails, intranets etc.) which are useful for delivering factual information, but understand that only face-to-face interventions will really start a change in thinking, attitudes and behaviours.

We have in –depth experience in developing and delivering workplace change programmes for local and central government and commercial organisations. These are often catalysts for broader organisational change and we actively support staff in understanding the link between the project visions and its physical manifestation, together with the practical elements required for day-to-day working.

Partnership Development

Many projects and programmes are managed and delivered through a collection, or consortia, of service providers that may include the client. This can be one of the most successful, and one of the most difficult, methods of delivery. With a number of disparate organisations involved, it is absolutely vital to ensure that all parties have a collective understanding of the vision, objectives and measures and that this collective understanding of the vision, objectives and measures and that this collective understanding is maintained throughout the programme.

Turner & Townsend work to engender and maintain appropriate levels of openness and commitment from all those involved which is key to ensuring ongoing project timescales and milestones are met, all within the context of the contract deliverables.

Learning and Development

Turner & Townsend can develop and deliver a range of training interventions which support continual organisational improvement for our clients.

We work together to understand the needs and then develop and deliver cost-effective awareness, education and skills training programmes to support the desired change and improvement. We recognise that learning takes many forms and we tailor our involvement accordingly.

Organisational Development

In order to continue to evolve and succeed in a marketplace driven by globalisation and tight competition, organisations much continually focus on new ways to maximise productivity and develop internal talent. This requires the creation and implementation of targeted organisational development strategies which support wider change.

Turner & Townsend have delivered successful OD solutions to our clients in a range of areas, including performance development, leadership development, knowledge management and behavioural skills development, communication and succession planning.
