Project Management

Turner & Townsend will manage the successful execution of the project in accordance with the Client’s primary objectives and methodology as well as our own Business Management System.

Working closely with the Client, we will direct and control the project team to manage all the prime tasks required to achieve the aims of the project. These tasks will include:

  • Refinement and development of Statement of Need and Development Objectives, identification of Constraints and Risks as well as the implementation of appropriate Strategies.
  • Co-ordination of Option Appraisals and Economic Appraisals to confirm the project’s viability and to “value engineer” the scheme throughout the design process.
  • Production of the Strategic Outline Case and subsequent Business Case(s) identifying the preferred option and recommending the strategy by which the project can be successfully delivered.
  • Development of Client’s Briefs and Output Specifications.
  • Identification and treatment of Risks through a considered approach which focuses management attention on policies for effective control, leading to recommendations for risk and contingency allocation and best value procurement route.
  • Preparation of a Project Execution Plan for the implementation of project procedures and control systems in order to maintain effective control of change.
  • Contractual advice.
  • Preparation and collation of detailed reports including Financial, Progress and Quality Reports.
  • Production of a master programme and network with selective bar chart reports to reflect key dates and interfaces between all parties involved.
  • Liaison with external parties such as Regulatory Authorities as well as Legal and Financial Advisors to ensure that the building fully reflects their requirements and all interfaces are properly managed.
  • Management of the interface with users of existing facilities to minimise the impact of the work.
  • Management of the Contractor to ensure that the out turn project meets the Client’s objectives.
