The ESS (Compass Group) Dome 6 Rotational Camp is comprising of 24 accommodation buildings with capability to house up to 4,000 people. The complex has its own kitchen and dining facilities, laundry facilities, gym and recreation areas. The new camp stands out from similar developments in the area for its comfortable en suite rooms and the design of the dining area, bar and recreation facilities.
The camp was the first investment of that type for the Compass Group in the region. The development was commissioned upon request from Chevron to support their Future Growth project in Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan.
Our contribution
We were appointed to provide cost management and contract administration services whilst the project was in the design stage.
Making the difference
We were appointed to the project in the midst of claims from the contractor for changes in scope. We were quickly able to settle the contractor claims to less than 50% of their initial value, which enabled the client and the contractor to adjust project scope, complete the design activities and progress the project to the construction phase.
Throughout construction phase, we have used our local knowledge and expertise to mitigate contractor claims to the total value of over 20 million USD.
In addition our weekly and monthly reporting provided clear overview of the situation on site and enabled the client to make quick and well-informed decisions.
