I’m responsible for timely preparation and submission of project and contract documents, monitoring and controlling on-site activities and coordinating with the project team to make sure that the project is progressed on time, within budget and meets the safety and quality requirements. My aim is to make things simple yet qualitative and save time by not reinventing the wheel.

I joined Turner & Townsend as a graduate in June 2017 and completed the 24 month graduate development programme in 2019. I then worked for the International O&G client on an interior corporate fit-out project of 109,000sqft spread over two floors. Currently, I’m working for a client leading in the aviation sector on a green field campus development, spread across 42.81 acres.

Q. Describe your typical day.

A. I usually start my day at 7am when I leave for site. Since I have to travel for almost 1.5 hours, I use that time to plan for my day ahead. I love to prepare a checklist of ‘to-do’ items and I feel happy at the end of the day when I strike them off! Sometimes I just listen to music and enjoy the early morning.

When I reach site, I start with my planned activities and prioritise them, as this helps me meet deadlines. I observe the works around me and learn as much as I can. I also work on our Chairman’s group challenge and we have healthy discussions and knowledge sharing. On some days, we have technical training on the PM/CM modules.

Q. What do you enjoy most about working at Turner & Townsend?

A. The best part about working at Turner & Townsend is the work environment and professional conduct. I feel very comfortable with my colleagues as we work collectively and help each other grow. I also thoroughly enjoy the social gatherings, parties and outings organised by Turner & Townsend, as we believe in work hard, party harder!

Q. How do you see your career progressing at Turner & Townsend?

A. I see myself moving up the corporate ladder at Turner & Townsend, with the different experiences and exposure that I am given. Working with colleagues across the globe, working on projects of different scales and sectors, gaining tremendous knowledge and at the same time developing a wide network of professionals.
