We have appointed Mark Utting to the role of Country Manager for Switzerland.

  • Mark Utting selected as Country Manager for Switzerland
  • Mark Utting relocates from Turner & Townsend Thinc in Australia
  • His appointment comes as the company’s Switzerland operation recorded a 50 percent increase in total income from 2014/2015 to 2015/2016

Mark, who has 20 years’ experience within the construction industry, joins from Turner & Townsend Thinc, the programme management arm of our real estate division in Australia.

Most recently, Mark successfully led the business in South Australia as regional manager for five years, overseeing major projects within the real estate sector. Prior to this, he worked as a senior project manager in Darwin and Adelaide, and also in London, UK.

Mark will now focus on developing our fast-expanding division in Switzerland, which has already seen total income grow by 50 percent between 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Growth has also been evident in the wider European market, with our annual results recording a regional revenue increase of nine percent to £23.4m in the year to 30 April 2016.

James Dand, Europe Managing Director, said: “Mark’s appointment recognises back-to-back years of solid growth for our business in Switzerland. Through strengthening our in-country presence we can increase our support to our existing clients in the Life Sciences sector, including Syngenta and Johnson & Johnson.

“We also see increasing demand for our services from Swiss-based global corporate clients and Mark’s appointment will enable them to benefit from our combination of local expertise and extensive global capability.”

Mark Utting, added: “I’m excited to be joining the business in Switzerland, a particularly fast-growing region for Turner & Townsend and one which contains a very unique set of challenges including diversity in culture, language and geography.

“The scale of global business operations within Switzerland is also incredible, as a result of Swiss tax conditions providing great incentives for international businesses to invest. I’m confident that we can continue to support the Swiss market by providing leading edge solutions for complex project and programme delivery”.
