Turner & Townsend will attend the 66th Geomechanics Colloquium, hosted by the Austrian Society for Geomechanics. The congress will take place on 12 and 13 October at the Congress Centre ‘Salzburg Congress’ in Salzburg, Austria.

Each October, the society organises the Geomechanics Colloquium, where experts from the European geotechnical community come together to discuss current matters.

This year, the colloquium will cover the following topics:

  • Geomechanical aspects of current tunnel projects
  • Refurbishment of infrastructure
  • Engineering geological documentation Pressure tunnel design and surveillance

Prior to the event, our Senior Project Manager and grouting expert Ignaz Reichl, along with Prof. Stadler will hold a workshop on “Grouting” on 11 October.

What is grouting?

Grouting work is one of the few technical services that provokes questions and uncertainties. For many it is a complex and complicated sequences of steps that cannot be explored to the very last detail. Experience as well as expertise, are absolutely essential as the process requires cooperation from experts across a variety of disciplines. Therefore, it seems to be even more important to reflect upon what we know about this method, the different means of implementation and to reflect and interpret these findings.

If you have any questions about our participation at the colloquium or wish to learn more about the topic, please contact:
