The construction sector in Oman is robust and adaptable, with tourism developments set to play a decisive role in its growth over the next few years. We’re helping clients make the most of this dynamic, rapidly-evolving environment.
The Omani government launched Vision 2020: a development programme to bring unparalleled economic growth to the region. As such government entities such as Oman Rail, SEZAD, and OMRAN plan to execute mega projects like the National Railway Project, New Duqm Town, The Wave, SBJ and more by 2020, bringing over $50bn of investment into ports, roads, airports, rail, water, power and construction projects to Oman.
The 2020 Vision makes a conscious effort to diversify the Omani economy away from its current staple of oil and gas and is focussing on growing its reputation as a tourist destination, with tourism master plan schemes, and large scale resorts being developed throughout the country. Furthermore, large scale plans are being developed for numerous locations across the country to address the need for local housing, medical and leisure facilities for the Omani people under an unprecedented drive to improve the social infrastructure of the country.
