Apprenticeship course and level:
Level 4 HNC in construction management in the built environment and NVQ for construction in the built environment.
Why did you join Turner & Townsend?
I joined Turner & Townsend in order to be a part of something bigger, I wanted to see the way the buildings we work or study in are constructed and I wanted to be a part of the creation for future generations. The apprenticeship for construction management is structured so that I rotate around different companies. These are Turner and Townsend, Laing O’Rourke, Manchester City Council, BDP, Atkins and Crown House Technologies.

What does the programme offer you?
This programme gives you the chance to become a part of the construction industry while learning practically, for me this is more beneficial as I learn by doing.
What training and development opportunities are available to you?
There are many training opportunities such as, corporate identity, BIM and technology, sustainability and procurement.
How are apprentices viewed in the company?
Apprentices are viewed as the next generation of the company, from my experience they are not seen as a hindrance or problem but the future of Turner & Townsend.
What project are you working on/what projects have you worked on?
I have worked on a refurbishment of a civic building which was my first project to work on. Also I have worked on five schools projects and am about to start on another school which I have been given more responsibility.
