Executive Board

Tim Wray - Chairman
Tim Wray joined Turner & Townsend in 1971, beginning as a Quantity Surveyor in the Darlington Head Office before developing his career in cost engineering in the mining sector. This led to his transfer to South Africa in 1982 and the establishment of Turner & Townsend in Africa. He was made a Partner in 1984, a Board Member and Deputy Chairman in 1995, and returned to the UK in 1999 as Chairman and Senior Partner. Over the last eight years he has overseen the transformation of Turner & Townsend, achieving an average annual growth of +27%, and guiding the business to become one of the largest quality driven construction and management consultancies of its kind.

Vince Clancy - Chief Executive Officer
Vince Clancy joined Turner & Townsend in 1989 and was appointed to the Executive Board in 2002. He has prime responsibility for managing growth in global markets where he has established a number of new operations. Vince is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He has developed strategic relationships with key global clients and has overseen the growth in the business's worldwide turnover which has increased significantly in recent years.


Tom Harrison - Chief Operating Officer
Tom Harrison joined Turner & Townsend in 1974 and was appointed to the Executive Board in 1999. He has specific responsibility for the UK which has experienced significant growth in recent years. Tom has supported many global clients in the establishment of their capital investments in the UK, developing relationships which have helped accelerate the expansion of the business around the world.

Bill Woolgar - UK Managing Director
Bill Woolgar was appointed to the Executive Board in January 2005. A Chartered Mechanical Engineer, he joined the company in March 1989 managing major transportation projects, having previously worked in Africa on mining and processing projects. He was appointed Managing Director of the project management company in October 1998 and has overseen its growth to its current position as the largest project management company in the UK.

Jeremy Lathom-Sharp - Group Finance Director
Jeremy Lathom-Sharp was appointed to the Executive Board of Turner & Townsend on joining as Finance Director in March 2000. Jeremy has played a key role in the acquisitions undertaken by Turner & Townsend since 2000, and has overseen the transformation of the Group's financial and IT processes and systems to meet its needs as a global business. He joined Turner & Townsend after 5 years with the international engineering company David Brown Group plc as Group Financial Controller. Jeremy started his career with Price Waterhouse where he worked for 7 years as a chartered accountant."

Gordon Horsfield -  Non-Executive Director
Gordon Horsfield spent the principal part of his career at Price Waterhouse where he became Head of the UK Corporate Finance and Recovery division. Following the merger with Coopers and Lybrand in 1998, he was appointed Director of Operations of PricewaterhouseCoopers.  After leaving PwC at the end of 2002, he was subsequently appointed Executive Chairman of what was to become Drax Group plc, the Yorkshire-based power generator, leading it to a successful listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2005.  He became non-executive Chairman of Drax Group in early 2006, a position he held until he stepped down in April 2008.


Dave Belmont - Company Secretary
Dave Belmont joined Turner & Townsend in April 2008 from accounting software specialist, CODA plc. Dave is a Chartered Company Secretary with fifteen years of company secretarial experience, most of which have been spent with listed companies. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Dave has also gained the Professional Award in Corporate Governance. In June 2006, Dave was named the UK’s Company Secretary of the Year, and in October 2007 was presented with the Pension Scheme of the Year award by the Professional Pensions magazine for his work at CODA.
