This regular newsletter from Turner & Townsend is designed to bring you news from the mining and metals sector, sharing what we see and experience in your industry around the world.
In this first issue we start by looking at the contractual relationships typically seen on large construction projects. Our experience shows that the differences between the common forms of contract (for example, between an EPC and an EPCM contract) are not always fully appreciated or understood. This overview will clarify some of the differences and some of the implications between entering into one form of contract rather than the other.
Additionally, we give you a snapshot of the mining industry in Chile, the world’s largest copper producer. Our new subsidiary in Chile is up and running and we are working with Anglo American and Codelco among others.
We want to make this publication relevant and interesting for you. We welcome your feedback as well as suggestions about possible future topics you would like to read about. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these few thoughts from the mining world as seen from our perspective.
