Turner & Townsend’s contribution to the construction industry in Yorkshire has been recognised by the prestigious RICS Pro-Yorkshire Awards 2010, which celebrate inspirational developments in the built environment.
Turner & Townsend was involved in the success of six of the shortlisted projects in the Yorkshire region.
Building Conservation is a category that one of Turner & Townsend’s projects won in 2009 and the company is hoping for the same success this year with the University of Sheffield’s Jessop Building.
In the category of Community Benefit, The Junction in Goole has reached the Yorkshire finals.
Two of the University of York’s projects have been shortlisted; Goodricke College for the Residential award and the Berrick Saul Building for the Design & Innovation category. Also in the Design and Innovation category is The Rose Bowl, Leeds Metropolitan University, which has also been shortlisted in the category of Sustainability.
The Wakefield Waterfront is a finalist in the Regeneration category.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner and award ceremony on Friday 14 May 2010 at the Pavillion, Leeds United Football Club.
