Turner & Townsend employees had the rare opportunity to meet Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, on an official royal visit to the new Museum of Liverpool.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were the first to experience the four new galleries, including The Great Port, Liverpool Overhead Railway along with a 38 metre time traveller’s timeline, and a gallery dedicated to Liverpool’s King’s Regiment.

Before leaving the museum, the royal couple unveiled a plaque commemorating their visit, signed the visitors’ book and conversed with museum representatives and Victor Horniblow, a member of the Turner & Townsend project team.

Our team played an instrumental role in facilitating the development of the new £72m museum by providing cost management and contract administration services on the project. The new museum of Liverpool is the largest newly built national museum for over 100 years, and is on course to attract over 750,000 visitors a year.
