Turner & Townsend project for Roche wins award in Germany

Turner & Townsend is pleased to announce that the project on which it worked for Roche in Penzberg, Germany, has been recognized as part of the Facility of the Year Awards. The Biologics IV project was submitted by Roche and has been selected as a Category Winner in Project Execution for the 2008 Facility of the Year Awards programme. The Bio IV project included the new construction of biotechnological production plant for breast cancer treatments, as well as laboratories and offices (26.000m² GFA, 33m building height).
“Turner & Townsend contributed significantly to handing over the project 4 months ahead of schedule, “stated the project director Claus Herrman, F. Hoffmann-La Roche.
Turner & Townsend provided project/construction management together with cost control, programme management, documentation control and site supervision. The project benefited from existing Turner & Townsend innovation models including processes to coordinate the high number of contractors and workers in this large and complex site at one time, the parallel drive of design and implementation, and management tools to optimize overall document management.
