Japan Airport Consultants - Long Thanh International Airport
Turner & Townsend was engaged by Japan Airport Consultants (JAC) to
form part of the consortium to provide high-level airport benchmarking
data as part of the FS in conjunction with JAC (lead consultant) and
adpi from France who were tasked with providing a Master Plan for
“LTIA”. The FS was funded by Japanese Overseas Development Aid “JICA”
and encompassed a a Master Plan for a new modern airport with two phases
for 20 mmp and 50 mmp by 2020 and 2045 respectively.
Turner & Townsend’s contribution
Turner
& Townsend Airport Group based in the UK in conjunction with the
Vietnam based team provided bench-marking data for the passenger
terminal building, airfield facilities comprising runways and taxi-ways,
air-craft landing equipment VOR/DME, fuel distribution, cargo terminal
and maintenance facilities and other associated buildings such as
catering, health, quarantine, security, operations and fire-fighting.
Bench-marking data was provided in the form of unit rates and allowances
from airports around the world of a similar scale and nature
interpolated for Vietnam.
Making the difference
Turner
& Townsend were able to draw on our specialist Airport unit’s
international experience from similar international airports but also
using the local cost support team providing local cost-data with
appropriate pro-rata adjustments for local application. Turner &
Townsend also assisted in allocation of the cost plan into various
finance packages as advised by the client comprising PPP, ODA, and
Vietnam Government finance.
